Forest for Sustainable in Tripura

Tribal (Jamatia) Community awareness campaign of sustainable management in natural bamboo forests or Non- Forest. The community awareness campaign of biodiversity conservation and sustainable management in bamboo forests was held in Kami Kwtal, Pitra Moial, Killa, Udaipur, South Tripura on 19th February’2012. The awareness campaign was arranged for the “Baba Garia Mission an N.G.O” for raising the awareness of forest for sustainable and advancing the uptake of bamboo management practices. The awareness campaign was divided into two parts: Village level plantation work and Hands-on practical awareness.

 During the Village level plantation work component of the dissuasion, more than 122 persons Jamatia Community attended the awareness campaign on 19th February’2012. Social workers were mainly from the

Expert trainer Dr. Atul D/Brama from Environment provided training on Forest sustainable forestry practices. Dr. Atul has over 6 years of experience on forest based management in Tripura, home too much of Tripura industrial forest produce. The hands-on component was supported by the Tripura State Pollution Control Board under Ministry of Forest and Environment, Govt. of India. It was held in the documentary forest based in Tripura and North Eastern India.
